Abdullah Al Asif

Abdullah Al Asif is a researcher in the field of Transportation Engineering. He is currently working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Maine, ME, USA. He previously completed his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation Engineering from BUET, the top engineering university in Bangladesh.

He grew up in Bangladesh and witnessed how low traffic speed in city areas keeps people stuck in congestion, and at the same time, high speed on highways kills thousands of people every year. This experience motivated him to pursue research to create both faster and safer roads for everyone. He strongly believes autonomous vehicles are the future.

His work focuses on Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, Adaptive Traffic Signal Control, Traffic Flow Optimization, and Traffic Safety. Feel free to reach out at abdullah.asif@maine.edu
